HR ResponsibilitiesThe City of Elmhurst Human Resources department functions under the direction of the Human Resources Director. The Department’s responsibilities include: 

  • Strategic management
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Workforce planning and employment
  • Training and organizational development
  • Employee and labor relations
  • Occupational health, safety, and security
Employee and Labor Relations
Human Resources monitors, develops, administers, evaluates, and maintains programs that promote workplace relationships in support of the organization’s strategic objectives. This includes the collective bargaining process with three unions. The Human Resources Director also serves as liaison for the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
