City of Elmhurst Hires New Business Development Manager

 

The City of Elmhurst’s new Business Development Manager, Heather Bereckis will assume her position on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. 

 

Bereckis comes to the City of Elmhurst after serving as the Village of Hinsdale’s Superintendent of Parks & Recreation, working with Hinsdale community since 2013. 

 

In addition to planning, organizing, and directing the operations and facilities of the Hinsdale Parks & Recreation Department, Bereckis oversaw all aspects of the Village’s economic development initiatives. This included the design and implementation of local business campaigns, department reports, and acting as the staff liaison to the Village’s Economic Development Commission. Bereckis was instrumental in developing and fostering successful partnerships with a number of local organizations, including area businesses and community groups.  

 

“I am excited to see how this position can challenge and grow my experience, but also the local area. I believe that my experience will ensure a successful fit for the City of Elmhurst,” states Bereckis. 

 

As Business Development Manager, Bereckis will perform work in the preparation and implementation of economic development initiatives, plans, programs, and services focused on identifying and attracting new businesses to the community, supporting the growth and development of existing businesses, and the administration of incentive-based programs.  Bereckis will serve as the City’s liaison working with local business associations, commercial brokers, private property owners, and other public, private, and non-profit groups. She will also act as a City liaison with local business organizations working to facilitate comprehensive advertising and cross-marketing campaigns to promote Elmhurst businesses and public activities.
