The City of Elmhurst will be undertaking improvements to the First Street bridge this summer.  On June 2nd and 3rd the City's contractor will be installing fall protection netting under the bridge in anticipation of the forthcoming bridge work and a lane closure on Robert Palmer Drive in each direction will be in place on Thursday, June 2nd and Friday, June rd to facilitate this installation.  The main bridge work will commence starting Monday, June 13th and this work will require the First Street Bridge to be closed and a detour route, utilizing Schiller Street, to be in place.  Overall, the bridge work is expected to be completed by the end of July.
