The New Year brings a sense of excitement about the future of the City of Elmhurst. To help lay the groundwork for success, the City is undertaking strategic planning to identify the long-term vision, including but not limited to goals and resource needs during the next five-to-ten years. An important aspect of this process is gaining input from residents, businesses owners and other stakeholders about the City of Elmhurst’s strengths, opportunities, limitations and threats, as well as key priorities that City Council should consider.
To aid this effort the City will be hosting a series of focus groups to gain specific feedback and insights. The information gathered from these forums will be shared with City Council, the City Manager and the executive team to assist prioritization and planning efforts.
A virtual focus group will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The virtual event is open to the public to attend and provide input. You do not need to prepare in advance, simply be ready to share your candid impressions and opinions.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP to breanne.white@elmhurst.org. A zoom link will be provided after you RSVP.
The Center for Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University was selected to help guide the City of Elmhurst through its strategic process. Participation will help provide City leaders and staff with a broad perspective of ideas and talking points. The strategic plan will be an important document in shaping the future of Elmhurst for the shared benefit of its residents, businesses and civic partners.
