Elmhurst police are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 300 block of S. Washington Street in Elmhurst on June 24, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.

A resident in the 300 block of S. Washington Street reported hearing a person inside of her home. The offender quickly fled after the resident called out to them. Further investigation revealed the offender entered the home through a window and removed jewelry. Neighbors reported seeing a dog walker around the same time as the burglary.  It is unknown if the dog walker was the offender. The dog walker is described as a male/white, medium build, in his 40's walking a medium black & white sized dog with a harness.
