On May 18, 2021, Elmhurst Police received a call at approximately 3:00 p.m. of a bank robbery at TCF Bank, located inside the Jewel at 944 S. York Street, Elmhurst. The offender is described as a black male, wearing a gray baseball cap, blue/gray shirt with jeans. He fled on foot. Schools in the area were placed on a temporary soft lockdown, which has been lifted. There is significant police presence in the area.
