UPDATE 2/27/21 11:30 am:
At 10 am this morning, the COVID-19 vaccine call center was open and the system was immediately overwhelmed with over 65,000 phone calls. It appears that a robot calling system crashed the phone line. Due to this high demand, the system would not allow these calls to come through to call takers. We are working diligently on a new plan for residents 65 and over to ensure that all vaccines will be distributed. We will post an update as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
On Saturday February 27th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., the City of Elmhurst will be scheduling appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations. Calls will be taken until spots have been filled. The registration is open to Elmhurst senior residents, ages 65 years and older. Vaccines are available by appointment only and will be limited to 950 residents who meet the category requirements.
The call center will open promptly at 10 a.m. and appointments will be taken by city staff and volunteers. Please call (866) 452-0527 to schedule an appointment. This will be the only phone line available for scheduling vaccine appointments. Callers will be added to a queue in the order the calls are received and should expect to remain on the line until they reach a call taker.
Appointments will include a dedicated time slot for both doses of the vaccine. The vaccines will be administered at Ray Graham Facility, 420 W. Madison St. in Elmhurst. The first dose will take place on March 5th and the second dose on March 26th. Seniors residents being scheduled must be available to receive the vaccine on both dates.
The City of Elmhurst is thankful to DuPage County Board Member, Pete DiCianni, Jewel/Osco, IDPH, and Ray Graham Association for the opportunity to coordinate this vaccine clinic. This vaccine opportunity has been marketed directly to Elmhurst residents 65 and older. Please visit Elmhurst.org for updates on this event.
