The Elmhurst Police announced today that special patrols will be conducted this Super Bowl weekend to crack down on alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers and/or seatbelt law violators.
“Impaired driving crashes are completely preventable,” says Commander Jim Gandy. “All it takes is a game plan. We want fans to remember that it’s a choice, and the choice is simple: Drink or drive, but never do both. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
If you plan to drink alcohol while cheering on your favorite team, pass your keys to a sober driver.
Motorists should also anticipate tickets for ignoring seat belt laws.
The Elmhurst Police Super Bowl Enforcement effort is made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
