Mayor announces his appointment of 2nd Ward Alderman
Mayor Morley has appointed 2nd Ward Alderman, Jacob Hill. The appointment took place at a City Council Meeting held on Monday, December 7, 2020.
Mayor Morley interviewed a total of 8 candidates for the position before recommending the appointment of Hill to the vacant seat. Hill holds the seat after the September resignation of Alderman Norman Leader. He will serve as 2nd Ward Alderman, after which the individual elected in the Spring 2021 election will assume the position.
Hill, a 17-year resident of Elmhurst, serves as an associate professor, veteran services officer, and librarian of Elmhurst University. He has a history of community involvement and civic participation and significant knowledge of community topics.
Hill holds a Masters of Library and Information Science from Dominican University and a Masters of Business Administration from Elmhurst University.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to support my community and do my part in addressing issues facing Elmhurst,” states Hill.
“Jacob will do a fine job representing all of the residents of Elmhurst,” states Mayor Morley. “With this appointment, Elmhurst City Council is now at full quorum which is great news for our community.”
