UPDATE, 5/31/20 @ 7pm: The City of Elmhurst continues to monitor this situation closely. Elmhurst Police have increased their patrol units and remain on high alert. Out of an abundance of caution, many businesses have been advised to close. 

Residents are encouraged to stay home this evening if possible and as always call 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.

The City of Elmhurst has been notified that groups are traveling into the suburbs with the intent of causing damage. Several stores in our area have closed as a precaution.

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely. Residents are encouraged to avoid malls and shopping areas at this time and as always call 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.
