[ARCHIVED] Elmhurst Police Continue to Investigate Shooting in the 800 Block of S. Linden Avenue.

Elmhurst Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on May 14, 2020, at approximately 8:55pm in the 800 block of South Linden Avenue. Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Van Buren &  Linden. Upon arriving at the scene, police found a 54 year old Elmhurst man, who was the victim of a gunshot wound in the 800 block of S. Linden Avenue.  Witnesses report that a vehicle described as a light color, newer model SUV, traveling W/B on Van Buren in the 300 block slowed and someone from inside the vehicle fired several shots at the victim who was walking on the sidewalk. The suspect vehicle fled the scene W/B Van Buren toward Colfax.  Police have recovered a rifle believed to be involved in the shooting in the 700 block of Colfax. 

The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital by Elmhurst Fire Department Paramedics for treatment where he is recovering from gunshot wounds.

Police are asking that anyone with information or video footage of the of the incident or immediate area to contact the Elmhurst Police Department at 630-530-3050. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
