Mayor Morley will now be accepting applications to fill the City’s vacant seat for City Clerk, following the passing of longtime City Clerk, Patty Spencer.
The Mayor’s designated appointee will serve as Elmhurst City Clerk through the end of Clerk Spencer’s term, after which the individual elected in the Spring 2021 election will assume the position.
The City Clerk’s responsibilities include being the Keeper of the City Seal, official Keeper of the City's Records, and Secretary to the City Council.
The Office of the City Clerk also oversees Senior Transportation Programs, Voter Registration, Freedom of Information Act Requests, and a large variety of permits. The Clerk also serves as the Local Election Official and the Open Meetings Act Officer for the City, ensuring that all required staff, Elected Officials, and volunteer Commissioners complete the State mandated training.

Applications will be accepted through the close of business day on November 12, 2019. Mayor Morley will review the applications and announce his decision shortly after.
