The Elmhurst Fire Department will host an Open House Event on October 13th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fire Station #2 as we celebrate National Fire Prevention Week. Station #2 is located at 601 S. York, Elmhurst. The event, which includes fire safety education, fun activities, and light refreshments, will be focused on this year’s theme “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice your Escape!” Guests will learn fire prevention and safety techniques through a series of educational demonstrations. Additional activities include station tours, Lutheran Charities Comfort Dogs, fire safety trailer, Superior AirMed1 helicopter landing at 12:45 p.m., live burn demonstration at 3 p.m., bouncy house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
