IDOT will be performing emergency repair work to replace portions of several beams on the I-290 Bridge over York Road, following a truck hitting and damaging the bridge in mid June. Starting at 12:01 am on Tuesday, September 3, IDOT will be closing the eastbound I-290 exit ramp to York Road, along with the eastbound I-290 on ramp from York Road. Detour signs will be posted (map). Additionally, there will be daytime lane closures on northbound York between Lake Street frontage and Crestview with one lane closed northbound daily.

Starting on Monday September 9, there will be a total closure of northbound York from Lake Street frontage to Crestview daily from 8 pm to 5 am Monday to Friday for at least two weeks. Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane during this time. Detours will be posted.

All work is scheduled to be completed by September 27th
