The Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act (the “Act”) was signed by Governor Pritzker on June 25, 2019, legalizing the purchase, procurement, possession, consumption, use (in a private residence), or transportation of cannabis within limitations. Local government may enact ordinances to allow, prohibit or significantly limit a cannabis business establishment’s location.

Public comment will be taken at this meeting. This Public Act requires municipalities to enact ordinances regarding this topic by January 1, 2020.
