[ARCHIVED] Residents and Commuters are advised to take caution with the predicted ice storm in the forecast.

Caution Freezing Rain

Residents and commuters are advised to take caution with the predicted ice storm in the forecast. Public Works Crews have pre-salted the streets and will be conducting continuous salting operations throughout the storm.

Crews are also repairing a broken water main at 656 S. York Rd. Southbound lanes of York St. from Meister Ave to Cayuga have been transferred to a Northbound lanes. Crews are anticipating the work will be complete by tomorrow morning before rush hour traffic. Commuters are advised to proceed with caution or avoid the area.

Due to the predicted freezing rain, ComEd is adjusting ComEd crew and contractor staffing in preparation for potential increased power outage activity. With the weather report it is imperative for everyone to exercise extremely safe driving practices. ComEd will continue monitoring the weather impacts and their system status throughout the evening.
