Due to the sever weather, Republic Services has modified its operating hours and has closed some of its facilities, impacting refuse and recycling services across the Chicago area, including Elmhurst. The record cold weather has affected trucks and machinery in addition to the dangerous wind chill temperatures for employees.

Republic Services will not be collecting garbage in Elmhurst on Wednesday, January 30^th and Thursday, January 31^st. Garbage collection will be picked up beginning Friday and may continue into Saturday in all areas of Elmhurst, no matter your location. Please place your refuse container on the street this Thursday night or before 6 am on Friday.

All refuse vehicles, including recycling trucks, will be used for refuse pickup. Therefore, RECYCLING WILL NOT BE PICKED UP THIS WEEK. Recycling pick-up services will resume on your normal collection day next week.
