[ARCHIVED] Elmhurst Seeking Commissioners for the Historic Preservation Commission

Elmhurst, IL - The City of Elmhurst is looking to fill vacant seats on the Elmhurst Historic Preservation Commission. The Historic Preservation Commission is a 7-member commission, appointed by the Mayor, and serves in an advisory role to the Elmhurst City Council. The Historic Preservation Commission meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm.


City residents who have an interest in the area of architectural history, building construction, engineering, finance, historical preservation, architectural preservation or real estate should apply. In addition to those interested in preservation, the Historic Preservation Commission is required to have a licensed architect as a member. The licensed architect position is open.

Recent projects of the Historic Preservation Commission include architectural resources surveys of the Kenilworth-Arlington and York-Cottage Hill areas. The Historic Preservation Commission also reviews applications for landmark designations and any alterations proposed to existing landmarks.
