Elmhurst Police are investigating an incident that occurred at York Rd & Crestview Ave, in Elmhurst at 4:45 p.m. on February 27, 2018.

On Tuesday evening, Elmhurst police officers stopped a vehicle at York Rd & Crestview Ave. During the traffic stop, the suspect drove the vehicle in the direction of the officer, and the officer’s firearm was discharged. As the suspect fled from police, he crashed into another vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle was recovered in Chicago following an intermittent pursuit involving several police agencies. The officers involved were not injured and the driver remains at large.

This incident remains an active and ongoing investigation by the Elmhurst Police Department, The DuPage Major Crimes Task Force and the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office.
