On December 17, 2017, at 3:00 AM, Elmhurst police officers responded to a report of a 26-year-old male who was suffering from a heroin overdose in the parking lot at 841 N. York Rd.
Police learned that a number of heroin packets and needles were dumped in a sewer on York Rd. and around a trash dumpster on the Churchville Middle School property. Elmhurst police officers began a systematic search of the area and recovered 18 bags of heroin and parts of broken syringes in a sewer and in the area of the dumpster. Police K-9 dogs from the DuPage County Sheriff and the Elmhurst Police Department responded to the scene to search the area, but did not locate any additional contraband.
Due to the nature of this incident, police are asking that parents and students of Fischer Elementary (which is contiguous to the middle school property) and Churchville be vigilant for any contraband or suspicious items on school property and if observed, to immediately notify school officials or police by calling 9-1-1.
