Elmhurst, IL – The Chicago Area Clean Cities (CACC) Executive Board has award the City of Elmhurst with the CACC Green Fleet Leadership Award. The award recognizes the City’s excellence in implementing green fleet technologies. The CACC is specifically recognizing that Elmhurst fleets have had the greatest increase in petroleum reduction through the use of biodiesel over a 12 month period.
Biodiesel is a domestically produced, clean-burning, renewable substitute for petroleum diesel. Using biodiesel as a vehicle fuel increases energy security, improves air quality and the environment, and provides safety benefits.
On Thursday, December 7th, the CACC will host an award ceremony where Elmhurst will formally receive this award.
