The Elmhurst Fire Department will host an Open House Event on October 15th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Fire Station #2 as they celebrate National Fire Prevention Week. Station #2 is located at 601 S. York, Elmhurst. The event, which includes fire safety education, fun activities, and light refreshments, will be focused on this year’s theme “Every Second Counts. Plan 2 Ways Out!” Guests will learn fire prevention and safety techniques through a series of educational demonstrations. Additional activities include station tours, Lutheran Charities Comfort Dogs, fire safety trailer, high angle rope rescue at 12:30 p.m., firefighter fashion show at 1:30 p.m., simulated EMS response at 2:30 p.m., bouncy house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., AirMed1 Helicopter at 3 p.m., and a child passenger safety seat booth.
