June 19 – 23 will be observed as Bike to Work/Metra Week in the Chicago area.  For those who take Metra to work, the Elmhurst Metra station offers free bike parking. There are also additional bike racks in the Addison Parking Deck. A bike maintenance station (located at the southeast corner of York and the train tracks) is equipped with an air pump for tires and tools for your bike, courtesy of the DuPage Cycling Foundation.

The Elmhurst Bicycle Club will be hosting an information table at the Metra Station on Tuesday, June 20, from 6:30 am to 8 am. DuPage County Trail maps will be available along with the pamphlet that was created specifically for Elmhurst showing the recommended quiet routes to travel to the Metra Station by bike. 

Whether you bike to get exercise, for transportation or just for fun, think about biking to your destination around town…..just about anywhere in Elmhurst is reachable within 10 to 15 minutes by bike.
