Elmhurst Police report the arrest of the offender of Financial Identity Theft crimes which resulted from a joint investigation between the Elmhurst Police Department and the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General. The arrest was the culmination of several months of investigation by both agencies, into reports of missing credit, debit and gift cards that had been mailed to the homes of residents in Elmhurst.
Detectives from the Elmhurst Police Investigations Division, working in conjunction with the United States Postal Service, developed information that subsequently identified the offender as: Eddie London Jr., 52 years of age, of the 10700 Blk. of Eberhart Street, Chicago, Illinois. London Jr. was employed as a postal carrier, working from the US Postal Service Office in Elmhurst. On Tuesday, January 10, 2017 Eddie London Jr. was taken into custody by Elmhurst detectives after a vehicle stop and subsequently transported to the Elmhurst Police Station.
Eddie London Jr. was charged with Financial Identity Theft, Unlawful Use of Credit Card, Driving While License Suspended, and transported to the DuPage County Jail.
