The City of Elmhurst thanks Elmhurst Toyota for funds used to supply all police patrol vehicles with AED equipment. This equipment was used to save the life of an Elmhurst resident that suffered from cardiac arrest.
Elmhurst Toyota generously donated funds to the Elmhurst Police Department, which were used to complete the installing of AED equipment in all Elmhurst Police patrol cars. This equipment allows patrol officers who arrive first at the scene to conduct emergency AED services to victims who need immediate attention.
On March 20, 2016, Elmhurst Police Officer Leo Elizalde responded to a home on the 300 block of Yorkfield Avenue. Upon arrival Officer Elizalde found the resident of the home suffering from cardiac arrest. Officer Elizalde was able to use the AED equipment that was installed in his patrol car to resuscitate the resident.
This was not the first time that Elmhurst Toyota donated funds to the City to be used for vital safety equipment. In 2011, the City received a generous grant from Elmhurst Toyota that was used to purchase Tasers.
“Thank you to Elmhurst Toyota for their generous donation,” states Elmhurst Police Chief, Michael Ruth. “The funds were put to great use, and have proved to be an essential service offered to Elmhurst residents.”
