Street closures and detour routes will be in effect in Elmhurst on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 24, for the 33rd Annual Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot. Event organizers are expecting a record turnout of 9,000-10,000 participants.

York St. will be closed from St. Charles Rd. to North Avenue from approximately 8-10:15 a.m., and a detour route will be set up to allow for the safe flow of traffic through and around Elmhurst. Other road closures include -

5:00 a.m. – Park Ave. from York to Cottage Hill
6:00 a.m. – Prospect from Church to Alexander
6:45 a.m. – Park Ave. from Cottage Hill to Myrtle
8:30 a.m. – Main portion of York St.
8:45 a.m. – Hard shutdown of all remaining streets
