The City of Elmhurst has hired contractor “Pipe-View LLC”, and will begin cleaning and video inspecting storm sewers in south Elmhurst in the upcoming months, weather permitting.
This project is a planned approach to minimize storm sewer backups and blockages by root-cutting and/or flushing city-owned sewer pipe. The project attempts to clean all sewer lines within the city on a rotational basis. As part of the cleaning process, each pipe segment and manhole will be evaluated with regard to structural condition and hydraulic capacity. The evaluation will be used to also assist in allocation of available funds for repair and maintenance of the storm sewer collection system. Attached you will find the Storm Sewer Cleaning Project Map. Crews will begin in Area #1 working west toward Salt Creek.
