The City’s 2016 Watermain Improvement Project includes nearly 5,000 feet of underground watermain replacement at various locations in Elmhurst. Since south York Street is scheduled for asphalt pavement re-surfacing later this year, this year’s program will include removing and replacing a small portion of watermain and a valve at the intersection of Hale Street and York St. This work is scheduled to begin Thursday July, 7th (weather permitting).

The linked detour map will be in place during daytime work hours on July 7th and 8th. One lane will be opened to through traffic at the end of each work day on July 7th - 8th and from July 9th - 11th, until restoration is completed. All work should be completed by late Monday, July 11th.
