[ARCHIVED] City Prepares for Predicted Storm Event

weather_alert.jpg

In anticipation of tomorrow's predicted storm event, the Street Division performed inlet patrol this afternoon. Crews checked low lying areas, cleared inlets as necessary, and completed sweeping as needed. Not all inlets require additional storm-day cleaning and not all streets are swept. Please note, Waste Management has been in town over the past week performing a City-wide contract street sweep, so most areas of town have been swept within the past few days. We encourage residents to check and clear any inlets on their streets prior to the storm.

Due to the prediction of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall totals, City supervisors and employees will be monitoring the storm events on site and call in additional employees as necessary. Sand bags are available in the parking lot of the Public Works Garage for residents to pick up. There is also a pile of sand, bags, and shovels available for residents to make their own sand bags, should the ready-made supply be depleted.
