[ARCHIVED] Southwest Wet Weather Control Facility Project, 24 inch gravity sewer

Southwest Wet Weather Control Facility Project

Work continues in installing a twenty four (24) inch gravity sewer on Jackson St. and crews are working east of the intersection of Mitchell Ave and Jackson St. The intersection of Mitchell Ave and Jackson St is open to traffic but the south east corner has barricades and plate due to Nicor gas having to make a minor repair. Crews have installed approximately 700 feet of 24 inch pipe and installed three manhole structures. As work continues east, road closures must take place to keep work areas safe for pedestrian vehicle traffic around Jackson School. Detour routes will be posted during construction as needed.

These improvements are essential to the completion of the Southwest Wet Weather Control Facility, which provides sanitary sewer backup relief for more than 2,300 homes.
