Parking in Elmhurst

The City provides ample parking for a variety of uses in the Central Business District (CBD). The parking system is not based on assigned parking and works on a first come, first served availability. 

Free Parking

Free hourly parking is available throughout the CBD. Signs are posted that reflect specific time limits for free customer parking and more information can be found here. Daily fee spaces for $2.00 can be used for extended parking requirements. Moving a vehicle from one space to another within the zone will not qualify the vehicle for additional timed parking. 

All permit lots and daily fee spaces are free on all weekends, City-observed holidays, and weekdays from 5:00 pm through 12:00 midnight.

Permit Application

  •  Full-Time Employee, Day and Overnight permits can be applied for and purchased here. There will no longer be physical permits issued. Your license plate will now serve as your permit. For more information, click here or call City Hall during normal business hours.
