OPPORTUNITY: Seeking Volunteers, Gallery Guides/Monitors, ages 16+, No experience is necessary – just enthusiasm for learning about modern and contemporary art and architecture, especially for our upcoming summer exhibition Par Excellence. This will be an indoor miniature golf installation where we would like volunteers to safely monitor the galleries, greet, and direct visitors. MORE INFO: AFS-USA’s FLEX and YES Virtual 2020-21 Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State and aligns with the goals of the FLEX and YES academic-year programs, which promote the values of civil society, youth leadership development, and lasting ties between Americans and the people of participating countries. The Sponsored Programs team at AFS-USA is actively looking for American peers to interact virtually with FLEX and YES students on a “peer-to-peer exchange” from January-May 2021. The goals of these interactions are to increase awareness of cultural differences and similarities, encourage intercultural understanding and provide a space for the YES and FLEX students to practice their English language skills. The synchronous exchange sessions will total 5 hours between January-May 2021 for each participant. Acceptance is on a rolling basis.
• Must be between the ages of 15-19 years old (born between Jan 15, 2001 and Jan 15, 2006).
• Interest in learning about diverse cultures and willingness to represent the U.S. and our culture respectfully and with distinction.

Topics of discussion may include communication styles, self-care, volunteering virtually, cultural value dimensions, and active global citizenship. Counselors are to facilitate the group process, while ensuring camper safety and creating a positive camper experience. Counselors need to be willing and able to participate with their campers in the majority of camp activities.
