Public Arts Commission

OverviewIn order to provide for continuity on the Commission, a system of staggered terms shall be established as follows:
  • Three members shall serve an initial term of one year
  • Three members shall serve an initial term of two years
  • Three members shall serve an initial term of three years
  • All successor terms shall be three years
Meetings
Meetings will be held on the third Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at City Hall.
Exceptions: No regular meetings will be held in June, July, or December.
PurposeMCO 4.05
The purpose of the Commission is to implement a citywide plan for the promotion and thoughtful placement of public art that includes, but is not limited to, sculptures, murals, and paintings, in an effort to improve the business climate and aesthetic appeal of the City of Elmhurst. The Commission shall undertake certain tasks in order to promote existing public art installations and to procure and implement new public art installations throughout the City. The Commission shall follow Robert's Rules of Order, unless it establishes its own rules of governance.
